Alfredo van de Munt

Alfredo van de Munt is an internationally active Dutch pianist whose musical journey began at the age of three in Belgium. Early competition successes, including first prizes at the Steinway Competition in Amsterdam and the International Tartini Competition in Slovenia, marked the beginning of his professional trajectory.
A decisive artistic turning point came during his formative period in Budapest, where close contact with the Hungarian pianistic tradition profoundly shaped his musical voice under the guidance of Eckhardt Gábor.
He subsequently continued his studies in Brussels, where he worked with Jean-Claude Vanden Eynde and was awarded the Eduardo Del Pueyo Scholarship, supporting an important phase of his artistic development.
Alfredo later completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, studying with Professor David Kuyken, and has since appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on Dutch national television (NPO2). He has been selected for prominent performance platforms, including the NLiszt Utrecht Competition at TivoliVredenburg.
In recent seasons, Alfredo has appeared in a range of international contexts, including performances in France, in the Netherlands, in the United Kingdom and Russia as part of the Pianissimo Festival, where he appeared at venues such as the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg and the Tretyakov Gallery in Kaliningrad. He has also recorded works at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, now available on major streaming platforms.
Alfredo is currently completing a Master’s degree in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he studies with Carole Presland, supported by scholarships from the Guildhall School and the Dutch Cultuurfonds.
